About

My name is Kristyn and I am so glad you popped by! I’ll be honest with you, I’m not that interesting. In fact, my three main loves in life are sipping espresso, galivanting across the world, and most importantly, binging as many Teen Fiction books as I can get my hands on.

I spent most of my young life in pursuit of discovering what in the world I was passionate about. What one thing could I do for the rest of my life, and still wake up every morning feeling fulfilled and happy? I realized after completing my BA in Anthropology and Museum Studies in 2018 and taking every possible elective under the sun that the choice was impossible.

The discovery of long-lost relics and fragments of history made me dance with excitement. The research of ancient civilizations long past made me swoon. The most notorious art crimes of the last century made my heart race with curiosity. And with each literary classic I devoured, I grew hungrier for more.

So, you see, it felt hopeless to choose. To select one wonderful path and abandon thousands of other possible adventures. Mere months before graduation, I experienced my first battle with my anxiety and depression demons. On the suggestion of my therapist, I began journaling to explore my mind and soul on a more personal level. I’d never written casually before, my only previous work limited to academic research papers.

This was different.

The thing I’d been searching for. What began as an exploration of my traumas and emotions quickly manifested into so much more. I launched Content by Kristyn as a lifestyle blog in 2019 and began writing my first novel in 2020 for a Creative Writing Post-Graduate certificate.

This was it.

The one thing that allowed me to live all the lives that I’d wanted to. The one path that allowed me to follow any and every possible path that existed. Because through words we have the ability to create endless worlds, tell endless stories, live endless lives. Writing is what made my heart sing. And I haven’t stopped since.

Now, having written my first YA Fantasy manuscript complete at 78,000 words and drafted several other novels, I am pursuing the dream that I once thought I’d never know.
